The city of Hialeah in Miami, Florida put out a call to artist to create murals with the theme of education for the outside walls of the John F. Kennedy Museum and Library and this was the first rendering I designed for the project. I wanted the image to have a strong message that your future really is up to you, whether you want to learn and grow is yours alone, so I made it the center piece of the picture. I also wanted the picture to appeal to the local Hispanic community, so I used tropical colors to catch people's attention. Feeling that the colors were more Venezuelan and Colombian than tropical, I remade the picture to reflect a wider spectrum of colors in the second proposal. Colored pencil and Ink on paper, 11 x 14 inches.
